MetroNow

MetroNow! is Metro’s newest service being introduced as part of Reinventing Metro. Often called mobility on demand, it uses smaller vehicles to provide service in communities and neighborhoods that do not have the population density and/or the street infrastructure to support regular 40-ft. fixed-route Metro buses.

MetroNow! rides can be booked through the MetroNow! On Demand mobile app or by phone. You can either request “Less Walking” which will provide curb-to-curb service or “Less Waiting” which will provide corner-to-corner service depending on your needs.

Access Program

Access is a shared-ride public transportation service, providing origin-to-destination transportation in small buses for people whose disabilities prevent them from riding Metro buses. To use Access, you must first register and be approved for service, a process that can take up to three weeks.

 

Visit the Access office on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays from 8:15 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Reasonable Modification Request

Individuals with disabilities may request reasonable modification/accommodation of SORTA’s policies, practices and procedures when modifications are necessary to avoid discrimination and ensure SORTA’s services are accessible to individuals with disabilities.

 

Requested modifications/accommodations will be granted unless they would result in a direct threat to safety, would constitute a fundamental alteration in the service, or are not necessary for the individual to access SORTA’s services. Requests for reasonable modifications/accommodations should be made in advance whenever possible.

 

If it is not feasible to make the request in advance, the request may be made to the vehicle operator, who will make a good faith attempt to accommodate the request unless it would pose a direct threat or constitute a fundamental alteration of the service. The vehicle operator may communicate with a supervisor before granting or denying the request.
